Last Updated -
With a single rate tariff, you pay a fixed cost at all of times of the day and also at weekends*. Your single rate tariff includes a usage charge per kWh and a daily supply charge. Rates vary by network area. For the single rate prices in your area, view our Energy Price Fact Sheets.
It is possible to change your energy tariff (which is either single rate or time of use) to one that works out more cost efficient for you. A single rate tariff would generally be cheaper for those who use more energy in peak times. View the Energy Price Fact Sheets to find out the peak, shoulder and off-peak times in your area.
*in NSW, there is stepped pricing on single rate where the price decreases twice as a household reaches certain levels of daily usage.
